Pakistan, who were whitewashed by Sri Lanka in a three-match T20 series, have managed to retain their top ranking in the shortest format of the game. The Men in Green are still number one with a rating of 274 while the Lankans have managed to climb to seventh spot from number eight.

England, South Africa, India, Australia and New Zealand are ranked between number two to six, respectively. However, the difference between Pakistan and England has become narrower after Pakistan’s below-par display against Sri Lanka.

Babar Azam has also maintained his top position in the T20Is despite failing in all the three matches against Sri Lanka. He could only manage 13, 3 and 27 that impacted Pakistan a lot.

Sarfaraz Ahmed took the responsibility for Pakistan’s latest debacle.

“When the team isn’t performing then the captain is responsible. We need to improve in all facets. If we keep dropping catches like this in the middle overs, we won’t be able to beat any team.”
