The Men in Blue kept their winning momentum alive in the enthralling series-decider of the three-match ODI series as they thrashed the Aaron Finch’s troops by seven wickets on Sunday. While Mohammed Shami, Kuldeep Yadav, and Navdeep Saini were on fire in the bowling department, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli played match-winning knocks for their side.

The head coach of Team India, Ravi Shastri heaped praise on Virat Kohli and the team after their incredible 2-1 series win. He stated that the hosts showed a great character in the series to bounce back after the 10-wicket defeat in Mumbai.

“This team, the boys showed great character. Nobody can say we played an inferior Australia side.

They got a thrashing in Mumbai, and then won two games, with all the travel, and with Australia winning all three tosses.”

Shastri also lauded the efforts of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma who performed exceptionally well in the absence of Shikhar Dhawan.

“Once they got off to a start, they (Rohit-Virat) realized they are up against a team that is always looking for wickets. So the way both batted with a lot of responsibility. The way Shreyas finished will do him a world of good.”
