The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will start their IPL 2022 campaign against Punjab Kings on March 27.
They will be led by Faf du Plessis, who replaced Virat Kohli. The South Africa legend was bought for INR 7 crore.
The RCB also added Indian wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik to the squad. In a conversation with Danish Sait for the RCB, Karthik spoke about playing under Faf and his chat with Virat Kohli during India’s tour of England, where he had urged Kohli to consider him for the RCB.
When Danish Sait asked Karthik if he had talked to the 33-year old about the same, Karthik said, “Yeah, I urged Virat to consider me, and he said, “you might be talking to the wrong person, bro!”
Karthik said Faf is tactically sound and is a great leader.
“As a player, he is somebody who has maximised his potential, and that’s always a good sign for a leader. I have also played against him. When he led South, I saw he was tactically sound. Leadership is about handling players, and everybody will accept that he is a terrific guy.”
