Harmanpreet Kaur’s team defeated South Africa by 52 runs to secure their first-ever ICC title in any format of the game.
Shafali Verma and Deepti Sharma’s all-around performances led the team to success. Gambhir congratulated the players.

Legendary off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin praised the women’s team.
“Congratulations @BCCIWomen, that was one hell of a campaign. Well done to the girls and the entire support staff led by @amolmuzumdar11.”
Irfan Pathan took to X to opine on the success. “Many congratulations to @BCCIWomen for winning the World Cup. Brilliant play. Deepti Sharma, what a player you are. Shafali, well done.”
