Rohit Sharma is one of the best players in the shorter formats of the game. The 34-year old has been a consistent performer in white-ball cricket, with more than 9000 runs in one-day internationals. Out of his 29 ODI centuries, three are double tons.

The new limited-overs captain of the Indian team led from the front in the first ODI against West Indies. Riding on his fifty, the Men in Blue won the game by 6 wickets to go 1-0 up in a three-match series.

Apart from his batting display, Rohit was spot on as a skipper as well. His bowling changes didn’t allow the Kieron Pollard-led team to get away during the contest.

Former Windies player and one of the legends of the game, Ian Bishop, heaped praise on the Indian batter.

“Rohit Sharma is one of the all time greats in the ODI format,” he said on Star Sports.

“He played exceptionally well and his timing was superb. To be out of the game for so long and play an innings like that on a comeback shows his class,” he added.
