Virat Kohli and Steve Smith have not been able to score big in international cricket. While Smith has hit three consecutive half-centuries in Pakistan, Virat has failed miserably in the game’s longest format.
Smith reached the triple-figure mark in Manchester in 2019 with his epic 211, while Kohli last scored a hundred in the Bangladesh Pink Ball Test in Kolkata in 2019.
Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif feels that they are used to batting on easy pitches at home. The discussion started after Smith was dismissed for 59 in the first innings of the Lahore Test against Pakistan.
Speaking on the YouTube show Caught Behind, Latif opined that players like Kohli and Smith are used to home grounds and the conditions where the fielders are placed according to their liking.
“I feel they have got a lot of easy pitches to bat on at home. They are players who need places and conditions to get going,” he said.
