Sarfaraz Ahmed was the best batter in the two-match Test series against New Zealand.

He scored a century and three fifties and was named the Man of the Match in the second and final Test.

Sarfaraz also won the Player of the Series award for his batting display. Meanwhile, Babar Azam has been lambasted for his ordinary captaincy in red-ball cricket.

Pakistan couldn’t win a Test match at home under his tenure. Australia and England defeated the hosts while New Zealand managed to draw the series in 2022.

Sarfaraz was asked about taking leadership role from Babar if the latter is sacked by PCB.

“Babar Azam is our captain and we should support him,” he said.

The 35-year-old also spoke about his career. “I am 35 and a lot will depend on my fitness and form. If everything is right, one can play till 40 or 42,” he added.
