Rohit Sharma impressed at the CEAT Cricket Rating Awards in Mumbai on Tuesday, 7 October, wearing a blazer. He was present along with Sunil Gavaskar, Brian Lara, Kane Williamson, Varun Chakravarthy, and Temba Bavuma.

During the awards, Rohit’s slimmer frame caught the attention of fans, especially when compared with past pictures. His friend and ex-India assistant coach, Abhishek Nayar, mentioned that Rohit lost around 10 kg after committing to rigorous training sessions. Rohit has been working closely with Nayar at Mumbai gyms to fine-tune his fitness.

At the award ceremony, Rohit Sharma credited Rahul Dravid for building a winning mindset that led to India’s T20 World Cup and Champions Trophy wins. Despite losing the 2023 ODI World Cup final, Rohit and Dravid inspired the team’s comeback. After Dravid’s exit, Rohit partnered with Gautam Gambhir to guide India to Champions Trophy success.

“That consistent approach in mindset and performance was supported by Rahul bhai and me throughout the 2024 T20 World Cup and later during the Champions Trophy. Even though we fell short in the 2023 final, the team had already embraced a fresh way of working, and everyone remained committed to it,” Rohit said.

“All the players who took part in the Champions Trophy embraced that mindset: focusing on winning games, challenging ourselves, and not taking anything for granted. We made sure to bring those qualities into every match,” he added.
