Former India cricketer Reetinder Singh Sodhi has warned pacer Harshal Patel ahead of the second T20I against Sri Lanka. Harshal hasn’t been impactful in the last few months, with other bowlers ready to replace him.

Sodhi pointed out that Harshal has conceded 40-odd runs in his quota of four overs in a lot of matches. The legendary cricketer told Harshal to perform or be ready to see the end of his career.

The statement came after Patel finished with figures of 2/41 against Sri Lanka in the first T20I. He gave away 16 runs in the 19th over, which almost resulted in India’s defeat.

“It is a worrying factor. He has been successful in the Indian Premier League but failed to replicate the same performances in international cricket. He bowls same line and length despite getting hammered,” he told India News.

“He has to perform in the upcoming matches otherwise Patel will be shown the exit door by the selection committee,” he added.

Meanwhile, Saba Karim pointed out that Harshal didn’t get the chance in the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia. He, however, agreed with Sodhi that the fast bowler become predictable.
