James Anderson, leading wicket-taker for England in Test cricket has namedropped his two-finalists for ICC World Cup 2023. The 41-year-old has predicted that India will lose a closely contested final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad to the defending champions in the upcoming 2023 World Cup.
India will be considered the top contenders for the 2023 World Cup due to their recent wins in the Asia Cup and bilateral ODI series against Australia. England, on the other hand, also had a convincing series win against New Zealand.

During an interview with BBC Test Match Special, Anderson predicted that India, England, Australia, and South Africa would make it to the tournament’s semi-finals.
” Based on my analysis, I predict that England, India, Australia, and South Africa will make it to the semi-finals. I’m impressed with how South Africa managed to turn things around during their series against Australia. Their batting lineup is quite strong, and they have several good options for their bowling attack. Although Pakistan and New Zealand will put up a good fight, I don’t think they’ll make it to the semi-finals this time. I can see England winning in a tight final against India.”
