Former Pakistan great and the current PCB chairman, Ramiz Raja, has lauded Australia for keeping Pakistan under pressure throughout the game and further rated Babar Azam’s 196 in the second innings.
“Australia maintained the pressure till the end. We saw how strong they were mentally. The whole world was watching Karachi Test. Pakistan cricketers absorbed the pressure well,” he said.
“I don’t have words for Babar Azam. He played the best innings of his career so far. When you know that you can’t make mistakes, pressure builds automatically. Additionally, the close-in fielders increase the pressure, and you have to revisit your batting style. But it was a brilliant batting performance,” said Ramiz.
