Former Indian cricketer Mohammed Kaif is surprised to see Tewatia's resurgance in the tournament.

IPL 2022 will start on March 26 with Chennai Super Kings taking on Kolkata Knight Riders at the iconic Wankhede stadium.

The matches will be played across Mumbai and Pune. While the financial capital of India will host 55 games, Pune has been given 15 matches of the 15th season of the tournament.

The new season will also welcome two new franchises – Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans. The 10 teams have been divided into two groups.

Group A comprises Mumbai Indians, KKR, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals and LSG.

The group B will have CSK, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Punjab Kings and GL.

Meanwhile, former India player Mohammad Kaif feels IPL 2022 is going to be the best season ever in the history of the tournament.

“Something tells me this might be the best IPL. All games in Mumbai-Pune, no flights, less travel, enough rest, small grounds, fast outfield, two new teams. Koi jukega nahi,” he wrote on Twitter.
