Jasprit Bumrah to return for the Australia series

India’s star seamer Jasprit Bumrah has been out of action since he picked up a back injury against Australia in September. Due to his prolonged back issue, he missed the Asia Cup in August, and his latest injury ruled him out of the T20 World Cup.

Bumrah’s fitness has been an issue for the side, but the management and fans have been waiting for their bowling spearhead to return, as he is the main guy to uplift the bowling standards. The good news for the fans is that a BCCI official, in conversation with Inside sports, revealed that Bumrah will be back for the Australia series in February.

The Aussies will tour India in February for a four-Test and three-ODI match series. The BCCI official also said that Bumrah has been recovering well and might even return for the Sri Lanka ODI series in late January.

“He is recovering well. He will be back for the Australia series. He will report to NCA later this month. The medical team will then assess his condition, and the selectors will take a call to include him Sri Lanka series or not,” the BCCI official said to Inside Sports.
