Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya
MI vs GT preview, pitch report, and playing XI

IPL 16 will have its 2nd finalist on May 26, when Gujarat Titans will take on Mumbai Indians for the 2nd qualifier at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Gujarat, who finished the group stage as table toppers, lost to Chennai Super Kings by 15 runs in the first qualifier. Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians, who ended up 4th on the table, beat 3rd placed Lucknow Super Giants by an emphatic 81 runs to advance further.

Ahead of the coming game, Mumbai Indians will be high on confidence, as their bowling attack, which was on a weaker side mid-tournament has improved a lot and the GT batters should be careful in their approach.

Akash Madhwal rose to fame after his five-wicket haul against LSG, where he broke a plethora of records. GT must play Akash sensibly to not put themselves in a state of bother. In the spin, Piyush Chawla has been doing excellent, but other bowlers also need to step up by taking more wickets.

In the batting, Tilak Varma is back, but skipper Rohit Sharma needs to be more consistent and score runs at the top. Cameron Green is in top form and so is Suryakumar Yadav.

Gujarat, on the other side, would hope for more runs from Wriddhiman Saha, who has not performed well since GT’s match against LSG. Meanwhile, Shubman Gill is in top form and even shone against CSK, where other batters failed.

The middle order needs to assist more as David Miller, Abhinav Manohar, and Rahul Tewatia have not created a big impact for GT in the past few games.

In the bowling, Gujarat need no changes, as Mohammed Shami, Rashid Khan, Noor Ahmed, and Mohit Sharma have been excellent. The issue lies in Hardik Pandya not bowling in the last three games, and the defending champions would hope for the skipper to bowl a few overs against MI.

This article will shed light on MI vs GT preview, pitch report, and playing XI.
