Virat Kohli will be playing purely as a batter after so many years for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2022.
He left the captaincy after the conclusion of the 14th season in the UAE.
The 33-year-old has welcomed the decision to hand over the Captain’s armband to Faf du Plessis.
He feels it is the right decision as Faf has been South Africa’s skipper, and the veteran commands a lot of respect in the dressing room.
“The plan was very clear That we need a leader (Faf du Plessis) in the change room who commands a lot of respect because he’s done so many things as Captain, and obviously, he’s a Test Captain. Excited for him to lead RCB, I’m sure he’ll do a tremendous job,” he said.
Virat also opened up on his role ahead of the new season.
“Renewed Energy because I’m off a lot of responsibilities and duties and life is in a very good place. For me going on about life with a lot of joy and happiness and doing what I love which is playing, my focus is so clear now.”
