Chasing 207 runs to win, India were given a reality check by Sri Lanka bowlers. Ishan Kishan (2), Shubman Gill (5) and Rahul Tripathi (5) were back in the dressing room in 2.1 overs.

It’s the first instance when India’s top three scored 5 or less runs in a T20I chase. Earlier, Sri Lanka put a massive total of 206/6 in 20 overs.

Captain Dasun Shanaka led from the front, scoring 56 not out off 22 balls, laced with 6 sixes and 2 fours.

Kusal Mendis gave a flying start to the visitors, hitting a well compiled 52 off 31 balls. He smashed 4 sixes and 3 fours.

India dropped Harshal Patel and included Arshdeep Singh in his place. Umran Malik took 3 wickets and conceded 48 runs in four overs.

Shivam Mavi was the most expensive Indian bowler as he gave away 53 runs and went wicketless.
