Harmanpreet Kaur and MS Dhoni
Harmanpreet Kaur looking to emulate MS Dhoni's feat

MS Dhoni, the only captain to win three ICC events, ended his career as one of the most inspirational figures in the history of the game. Captain cool has inspired millions, and every budding cricketer dreams to emulate Dhoni’s legacy.

Following captain cool’s footsteps, Shafali Verma led the women’s team to under-19 T20 World Cup glory in South Africa. After the win, all eyes have shifted towards Harmanpreet Kaur, who would look to guide India to their maiden T20 World Cup title, which begins on February 10 in South Africa.

Harmanpreet cited the example of MS Dhoni and said that she would look to emulate him and lead India’s women’s team to their maiden T20 World Cup glory.

“Our men’s team played the 2003 World Cup final, and the women’s team followed the same by qualifying for 2005 final. Then the men’s team won the inaugural T20I World Cup in 2007, and will we be able to replicate the same? Time will tell.”
