Aakash Chopra has questioned whether Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma batting together in the nets shows that the duo will open against Pakistan.

Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar slammed all those who had spread fake rumours about alleged rift between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. During the first ODI against West Indies at the Narendra Modi stadium, Kohli convinced Rohit to take the DRS after a delivery from Yuzvendra Chahal took an edge of Shamarh Brooks’ bat and was caught by Rishabh Pant. India reviewed it successfully.

Gavaskar lauded Kohli and Sharma for not reacting to fake stories. “Why wouldn’t they be getting along? They are playing for the country. All the stories from sources were fake. And the players don’t even bother about what is being written about them. They have a fair idea about planted stuff,” Gavaskar told Star Sports after India’s six-wicket win.

Gavaskar also backed Virat Kohli to return to form after his failure in the first ODI where he scored jus 8 off 4.
