Rishabh Pant recovery from injury
The Delhi Capitals lost their recent match against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Lucknow Super Giants will host Delhi Capitals for their season opener game at the Ekana International Stadium on April 1. Both teams are missing key players as several global stars are busy with international commitments and will join the IPL later.

Meanwhile, Delhi is eyeing their maiden title win but were the first to suffer a setback when they learnt that their regular skipper Rishabh Pant would miss the entire season because of a knee ligament tear injury.

Notably, Pant is recovering after a horrific car crash last year, following which he ruptured his left knee. However, in the latest development, Pant shared a special message for the Capitals ahead of their opening game, where he tweeted that he would be the 13th man for the team because of the new impact rule.

The 25-year-old Southpaw took to Twitter, and wrote, “I am 13th player coz of impact rule otherwise would have been 12th man.” Pant wrote the message in reply to a tweet posted by Delhi Capitals asking their fans to predict their playing XI against LSG.

Bengal wicketkeeper Abhishek Porel replaced Pant, but the Capitals are likely to go with domestic sensation Sarfaraz Khan as their first-choice keeper.
