Kolkata Knight Riders registered their season’s 4th win after they beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by five runs in their own backyard.
The visitors, batting first, put 171/9 on the board. In-form Rinku Singh scored 46(35), while skipper Nitish Rana amassed 42(31).
In reply, SRH got off to the worse possible start as they lost four early wickets. Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klaasen’s 70-run stand helped SRH bounce back into the game. However, tight bowling toward the end resulted in KKR registering a 5-run win over SRH.
Several cricketers reacted to Varun Chakravarthy’s last over and praised Nitish Rana’s leadership skills. Abhinav Mukund wrote, “How did SRH mess that up? When 2 teams low on confidence play- this is what you get. Nerves from Varun to bowl that final over but KKR have snatched that victory from SRH. Think they are out of the race now!”
Here are some of the other cricketers’ reactions.
KKR will next face PBKS on May 8, while SRH will play RR on May 7.
