Glenn Maxwell has not fired all cylinders in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022.

Glenn Maxwell, Virat Kohli and Mohammed Siraj were retained by Royal Challengers Bangalore for IPL 2022. Virat had left the captaincy after the conclusion of the cash-rich league in 2021.

Ahead of the new season, Maxwell has warned rival franchises from Virat Kohli.

The veteran feels Kohli could become more dangerous after leaving captain’s armband.

“Weight of captaincy removed, a stress free Virat Kohli could be dangerous news for opposition,” he said.

The Bengaluru based franchise has replaced Kohli with Faf du Plessis as a captain. The former South African skipper was with Chennai Super Kings in the last edition. However, after an intense bidding war with many franchises, RCB bought the right-handed batter.

Faf was the second highest run-scorer in 2021 and played a key role in CSK’s fourth title victory. RCB would expect the repeat of same performance from one of the most experienced players.
