Shakib Al Hasan is ready to take up the biggest challenge of his career. The star all-rounder wants to improve the quality and functionality of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), the leading T20 tournament of the sub-continent country.
BPL has failed to feature among the top T20 leagues in the world despite being played for years. Shakib, who is the most famous cricketer of Bangladesh, is convinced that he can make things work in a short span of time.
“If I am given the responsibility of BPL’s CEO, I will not take a long time to make everything right. Have you seen the bollywood movie Nayak? A lot of things can be done in a day,” he said.
Shakib will lead Fortune Barishal in BPL 2023, which will start on January 6.
Shakib recently represented Bangladesh in a two-match Test series against India. The hosts lost by a margin of 0-2. India were without Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami.
