LSG, the team led by Krunal Pandya, experienced a bitter end to their campaign in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Wednesday. In the eliminator match against the Mumbai Indians (MI), LSG suffered a devastating 81-run defeat.

Failing to chase down the target of 183 runs set by MI, LSG could only manage to post a mere 101 runs. This marked LSG’s second consecutive exit from the eliminator stage.

LSG’s batting lineup showed no resistance against the MI bowlers, and the young pacer from MI, Akash Madhwal, wreaked havoc by taking an impressive 5 wickets for just 5 runs in 3.3 overs.

This outstanding performance by Madhwal established a new record for the best bowling figures by an uncapped player in the history of the IPL. Unfortunately, this also resulted in LSG’s lowest total this year.

Adding insult to injury, after the defeat at Chepauk in Chennai, fans took the opportunity to taunt Gautam Gambhir by chanting the name of RCB’s star batter, Virat Kohli, at the top of their voices.

A video capturing the fans chanting Kohli’s name has gone viral on the internet. This incident occurred during the post-match chat between players and members of both teams, where Gambhir was engrossed in a conversation with Sachin Tendulkar, seemingly unaffected by the fans’ taunting.

However, this was not an isolated occurrence. In the previous LSG’s match against CSK in Lucknow and match against KKR in Kolkata, fans continued to tease Gambhir by chanting Kohli’s name. This relentless teasing has been a consequence of a verbal spat between Gambhir and Kohli on May 1, which gained significant attention on the internet.
