In a big move, the BCCI has sacked the entire senior men’s selection committee led by Chetan Sharma. The apex body sent out a media release on Friday stating it was inviting fresh applications for the positions for the five selectors, setting November 28 as the last date for applications.

Sunil Joshi, Harvinder Singh, Debasis Mohanty and Sharma, the four selectors haven’t recieved any communication from the BCCI.

It seems the president and the secretary were not happy with the performance of the selectors as India failed to defend its Asia Cup title. The semi-final exit in the ICC T20 World Cup forced the board to press the exit button.

Since late 2021, the Sharma-led selection panel was reduced to four members after Abey Kuruvilla’s term ended. The board didn’t appoint his replacement.
