Virat Kohli
Chopra opined that Virat should not only be the franchise's first retirement but also get the captain's armband.

While most of the Indian cricketers retire around 39-40, Virat Kohli’s exceptional fitness could make him the first to play after turning 40. However, former England captain Michael Vaughan said that Kohli could actually retire sooner than expected. Vaughan feels Kohli’s life has changed significantly now that he has become a father to two young children.

It was evident that Kohli had started to place a higher priority on his family than cricket when he had to miss the India vs. England Test series because of the birth of his son Akaay. Therefore, even though Kohli appears committed to continuing for at least another five years, Vaughan believes there is a slim chance that his plans will alter.

“Virat Kohli is a batting great and is fit. I believe he can continue playing for quite some time. However, retirement is always a consideration, especially as one’s priorities and mindset can shift within a few years, when one has a young family. I completely understand if Kohli eventually decides he wants to spend more quiet time in the future,” remarked Vaughan to Cricbuzz.

“When Virat Kohli took a break from the India-England Test series, he traveled to London and enjoyed a peaceful, normal lifestyle, according to his own comments and quotes. This suggests he may be tempted to step away from cricket for a while to have more quiet, private time,” he stated.

Kohli’s greatness is unparalleled, as he follows in the footsteps of his idol Sachin Tendulkar by continuously adapting and evolving his game. At 35, Kohli’s ability to excel with his new approaches is a testament to his tireless work ethic. When he eventually retires, the cricketing world will not only lose a batting wizard, but also a true entertainer who captivated fans with his passion and skill.

“He does energetic antics on the field. He stirs up a bit of chaos, playing to the camera and shushing the crowd, but such dynamic personalities are vital for sports. These are the athletes who captivate audiences, keep them on the edge of their seats, and stir up a healthy dose of controversy,” said the former England captain.
