Gary Kirsten, who is associated with Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Indian Premier League, said it is not right to compare Shubman Gill with Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli. Kirsten worked with Sachin and Virat when he was the head coach of Team India.
“Shubman Gill is a good player with a long way to go. Don’t compare him with Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli,” he said.
“Shubman can become a great player for the team across all formats. Like any other player, he will have to overcome difficult challenges. I would want him to keep learning and engage with other big names in cricket,” he added.
The right-hand batter scored the most runs in the Indian Premier League 2023. He accumulated 890 runs and was given the Orange Cap for his display.
“Gill can also become a leader in the future. He has a good knowledge of cricket,” he concluded.
