Pakistan ICC World Cup 2023
Ajmal believes that the Men in Green have a strong squad with a good balance of batting and bowling.

Amidst political tensions, doubts arise over India’s participation in the 50-overs World Cup held in India. Bilateral cricket between India and Pakistan remains limited to neutral venues due to strained relations over the past decade.

India’s refusal to tour Pakistan for the Asia Cup in September and their insistence on a neutral country for the entire tournament sparks a potential boycott threat from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

In response, ICC Chairman Greg Barclay and CEO Geoff Allardice is in Lahore to meet with PCB officials, aiming to find a resolution. Ongoing discussions regarding Pakistan’s World Cup participation took place, as stated by ICC General Manager Wasim Khan during a press conference.

Indian board secretary Jay Shah, heading the Asian Cricket Council, is expected to announce Asia Cup dates and venue this week. Subsequently, the World Cup dates and venues, scheduled for October-November, will follow after the World Test Championship final in London starting from June 7.
