Delhi Capitals star batter Prithvi Shaw has failed the Yo-Yo Test just ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022.
The 22-year-old was present at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) to undergo the test, but the result was not up to the mark.
As per a report in PTI, Shaw scored less than 15 in the fitness test, while the required score is 16.5 for male cricketers.
“These are fitness updates. It doesn’t stop Prithvi Shaw from representing Delhi Capitals in IPL 2022,” a source said in the report.
“He played three Ranji Trophy games on the trot, and the fatigue can also impact your Yo-Yo score,” he added.
Shaw hasn’t been considered by the national selectors, with Mayank Agarwal getting preferred over the young opening player.
Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya has cleared the test. He crossed the Yo-Yo test with flying colours with a 17-plus score which is above the cut-off level. He will lead Gujarat Titans in the 15th season of the tournament.
