Chennai Super Kings were poor in the field as they dropped a couple of catches. Gujarat Titans made them pay for their mistakes and accumulated 214/4 in 20 overs.
Sai Sudharsan accumulated 96 off 47 balls, laced with 8 fours and 6 sixes. Apart from him, Wriddhiman Saha played a fine knock of 54, hitting 5 fours and a six.
CSK managed to get rid of dangerous Shubman Gill, who smashed 39 off 20 balls. However, the bowlers had no answer to the pair of Saha and Sai.
Former players Aakash Chopra and Parthiv Patel were not pleased with CSK’s planning.
“They didn’t prepare properly for Wriddhiman Saha and Sai Sudharsan. CSK were thinking about Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya and David Miller. The duo took them by surprise,” said Aakash Chopra.
“Sai and Saha came out of syllabus for Chennai Super Kings. Both played with freedom against CSK bowlers,” said Parthiv Patel.
