BBL controversial moment
Fans trolled BBL for poor umpiring standards

The Big Bash League often gets surrounded by controversies, usually because of errors by the officials, and today was no different.

Table toppers Sydney Sixers squared off against Adam Zampa-led side Melbourne Stars, who are last in the table. The Sixers emerged victorious in a nail-biting thriller and won the match with just one ball remaining. However, the final over witnessed massive controversy.

Recently, Adam Zampa hogged headlines for mankading Renegades’ Tom Rogers, which sparked a massive debate on social media since Aussies are against such acts despite mankading being well within the rules.

Zampa was once again involved in a heated moment. The Sixers required 11 to win off the last over. Jordan Silk smashed a six off the 3rd ball and put the pressure on Stars as the batting side now just required 2 to win off three balls.

On the 4th delivery, Silk missed the ball and ran for a bye when the keeper hit the stumps. Zampa took a review, and Silk was given caught behind in what looked a not-out from the naked eye. The controversial moment occurred when the visuals showed a clear gap between the ball and the bat.

The Sixers did win the match, but that incident hogged the headlines, and famous analyst Aakash Chopra also took to Twitter to express his astonishment over the decision.

The fans also reacted to the incident and took to Twitter to share their views. Here are some of the reactions.
