In the ongoing game between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings, defending champions, batting first, put 214/4 on the board, the highest in the final of an IPL season.
The chase got cut short as the rain interrupted play again, and the players had to leave the field after the third ball, as CSK were 4/0.
The rain has stopped in Ahmedabad, but the resumption of play has been delayed because of a huge patch of water in one of the practice wickets. According to the report, the water mistakenly got spilled on the practised wicket while the covers were taken off. Here is the image of the wet pitch that has delayed the play.
Meanwhile, CSK batter Ambati Rayudu, who will retire from the IPL after the final, expressed his frustration on the groundsmen over their error.

In the latest development, the ground staff are working hard and are putting sand on the wet pitch to dry the pitch as quickly as possible.
If the reserve day also gets washed out, Gujarat Titans would be crowned the winners since they finished on top in the group stage.
