Pakistan cricket captain Babar Azam has recently made headlines in India after being featured in an Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) textbook. The flamboyant cricketer was included in the sports section of the eighth-grade textbook, which has since taken the internet by storm.

The question on which Babar was featured read, “The most popular sport in India is cricket, and the players are well-known. Do you know the nicknames of your favourite cricket players?” The question was part of a ‘match the following’ activity, in which students were asked to match cricketers with their nicknames.

Interestingly, numerous prominent cricketers worldwide were featured in the exercise. Alongside Babar, ‘column A’ included names such as AB de Villiers, Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, and Virat Kohli. Students were then asked to match these cricketers with their respective nicknames in ‘column B’.

Babar Azam’s nickname Bobby was an option in the second column B. The Lahore-born cricketer has become a sensation worldwide for his impressive batting display and has garnered massive success with the national team.

Babar Azam has been consistently delivering outstanding performances in international cricket matches, cementing his position as one of the best batsmen in the world. His ability to score runs consistently has earned him a massive fan following in Pakistan and worldwide.
