A glance at Sachin Tendulkar’s batting records is enough to prove his legendary status in international cricket. The former India batsman is still regarded as one of the greatest players of all time. Tendulkar not only brought several laurels to his country but also became the only player to score 100 international centuries in world cricket.
The 47-year-old legend scored 15,921 runs in 200 Tests and 18,426 runs in 463 ODIs – the highest by any cricketer in both the formats.
Heaping praise on Tendulkar, the former Pakistan captain, Mohammad Yousuf, recently termed him as the most complete batsman among everyone he had ever faced in his illustrious career.
“During my playing days, there were many great batsmen like Brian Lara, Pointing, Hayden but I always felt that Tendulkar was in every way the most complete batsman,” Yousuf was quoted as saying by PTI.
While comparing the former Indian batting maestros including the likes of Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, and Sachin Tendulkar with the modern-day cricketers, Yousuf said that India’s older batting line-up was much better than the current one.
“Kohli, Sharma, Pujara, Rahul are all quality batsmen but if I compare, the Indian batting line-up of Tendulkar, Dravid, Laxman, Ganguly, that was much better,” the 46-year-old added.
Yousuf represented Pakistan in 90 Tests, 288 ODIs, and 3 T20 Internationals, scoring 7530, 9720, and 50 runs respectively.
