As soon as the news of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) removing Sanjay Manjrekar from the commentary panel reached the netizens, there was a buzz on the micro-blogging site Twitter and the series of trolling started.

It is a widely known fact that Jadeja did not like Manjrekar’s commentary even a tiny bit and thus came the Chennai Super Kings (CSK)’ official twitter account with its tweet on the removal. Jadeja plays for CSK and he is one of the most loved cricketers down south.

The CSK tweet read, “Need not hear the audio feed in bits and pieces anymore.” It was a witty/nasty (reader’s choice) take on Manjrekar’s ‘bits and pieces cricketer’ remark that he had made for Jadeja.

But CSK was not the only one trolling, there was a flurry of memes as the former India cricketer has been a favorite of meme makers and was largely hated by hardcore supporters of Jadeja.

One such fan tweeted, “BCCI gets rid of verbal diarrhea amid coronavirus threat. One thing at a time! #SanjayManjrekar”

While another Jadeja fan invoked a famous dialogue from the movie ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, comparing Jadeja’s happiness to that of a character in the movie.

The fans’ tweet read, “#sanjaymanjrekar removed from BCCI commentary panel. #ravindrajadeja be like:”

Manjrekar’s removal from the commentary panel was on the cards ever since his bits and pieces remark. Although harsh in his tone and demeanor, Manjrekar is one of those commentators who speak his mind out, without dying down under the authority’s pressure.
