Suresh Raina’s sudden exit from IPL 2020 has left the entire cricket fraternity in shock. After his retirement from international cricket, everyone was curious about his performance in the upcoming tournament in UAE.
The 33-year-old southpaw has kicked off his IPL preparations last month. He even shared his intense work-out videos on social media platforms and was a part of CSK’s five-day training camp before departing to UAE.
Following Raina’s return to India, the rumors of a rift between him and CSK captain MS Dhoni have been doing the rounds on the internet. According to the latest reports, Raina was not happy with the hotel room provided to him in Dubai as he wanted a similar room like Dhoni.
If the reports of Outlook are to be believed, the former India cricketer also found the bio-secure protocols ‘stiff and claustrophobic’ after which he decided to return back home.
The owner of the Chennai-based franchise, N Srinivasan recently shared his views on Raina’s departure. He said that the left-handed batsman will certainly regret his decision.
“The season has not begun yet and Raina will certainly realize what he is missing especially all the money he is going to lose,” Srinivasan told Outlook.
“My thinking is that if you are not happy, go back. I don’t force anyone to do anything. Sometimes success gets into your head,” he added.
I have got a solid captain – Srinivasan
Srinivasan also showered praise on “solid captain” MS Dhoni for maintaining his calm and composed attitude despite all the recent problems.
“I have got a solid captain. Dhoni is simply unfazed by anything. That is giving everyone in the team a lot of confidence.”
