A lot has been said and written about the fitness of India’s limited-overs vice-captain and star opener, Rohit Sharma, in the past few weeks. After leading the Mumbai Indians to their record-extending fifth IPL title in the UAE, Hitman returned home and later underwent rehab at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. Rohit was also not named in India’s limited-overs squads for the ongoing tour Down Under due to injury concerns.
Addressing the media on the eve of the first ODI between India and Australia, Virat Kohli claimed that there is a “lack of clarity” and a lot of confusion over Rohit Sharma’s injury saga.
“It’s been very confusing and a lot of uncertainty and lack of clarity around the situation,” the 32-year-old batsman told the media in Sydney.
“After the selection meeting he played in the IPL and we all thought he would be on that flight to Australia and we had no information on why he was not travelling with us,” Virat added.
Reacting to Kohli’s latest statements, India batsman, Manoj Tiwary posted a cryptic message on his official Twitter handle.
“Lack of clarity has different meaning when it comes out from the mouth of two different individuals. If u smeeeellllllll Wat d rock is cooking,” Tiwary tweeted, using former WWE star, Dwayne Johnson’s famous phrase.
