Indian skipper Virat Kohli on Wednesday added another feat to his illustrious career. The right hand batsman has entered the list of top three run-getters in T20 internationals. He has climbed to third spot with 2263 runs from 67 matches.
Rohit Sharma of India leads the list with 2331 runs to his name in 94 matches and is followed by Guptill, who has amassed 2272 runs in 76 matches. However, Virat Kohli’s average of 50.28 is the best among the top five highest run-getters in T20Is.
Kohli scored 72 runs off 38 balls in the second and final T20 against Australia but he ended up on the losing side as Maxwell’s brilliant century proved to be decisive in the end.
He has been one of the most consistent performers across formats since last few years and was awarded the ICC Cricketer of the Year by the governing body of international cricket.
