Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni sustained an injury on his right forearm while taking throwdowns from support staff member Raghavendra.

He was involved in a long batting season ahead of the first ODI against Australia in Hyderabad and was taking throwdowns after facing bowlers in the nets.

One of the throws from Raghavendra kicked up and hit Dhoni on the right forearm.

Dhoni was in pain and didn’t bat after that in order to give some rest to his injured forearm.

A final call on his participation in the first ODI between India and Australia will be taken by the evening.

If he is ruled out of the first match, Rishabh Pant will don the wicketkeeping gloves.
