The former India all-rounder, Yuvraj Singh, is widely regarded as one of the finest players in world cricket. The hero of the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup-winning campaigns broke numerous records in the international arena.

However, the 38-year-old veteran, wanted to play a different sport. He had once harbored a dream of becoming a tennis player. During his recent interview with SportsKeeda, Yuvraj recalled an incident from his childhood when he broke his tennis racket after losing a game. Yuvi was too scared to ask his father for a new racket so he started playing cricket.

“I wanted to have a career in tennis. I remember I asked my mom for a racket and she obviously told dad about it. He bought me a racket of Rs 2500. I was playing in the quarter-final and I eventually lost in the tournament so I broke the racket. Zor se maara.”

After breaking the racket, I was scared to ask my dad for a new one, so I thought of playing cricket for a few days and then ask for a racket again. But I started enjoying cricket and got into it completely. Eventually, I stopped playing tennis.”
