Although RCB have failed to lift the IPL with Kohli as captain, he has been incredible with the willow for the franchise. 1. 113 vs Punjab Kings, IPL 2016

IPL 2016 was an incredible season for Kohli. He hit four hundreds and amassed 973 runs at an average of over 80. Kohli’s maiden IPL ton came against the now-defunct Gujarat Lions. RCB batted first in the game and Kohli raced away to an unbeaten 100 in 63 balls, hitting 11 fours and a six. He featured in a 121-run stand with KL Rahul (51 off 35) as RCB posed 180 for 2. Kohli’s brilliance went in vain though as the Lions chased down the target by six wickets.

3. 109 vs Gujarat LionsIPL 2016

Same opponent, same season, another hundred. This time the result was different though. RCB  took the first strike in Bengaluru and Kohli was in his element, bludgeoning 109 off 55 balls, blasting five fours and eight sixes. AB de Villiers also smashed 129 off 52 as the two added 229 for the second wicket. RCB ended with 248 for 3 and then dismissed the lions for 104.

4. 108* vs Rising Pune Supergiant, IPL 2016

One more ton from Kohli during the 2016 edition. The big difference was that this century came while chasing. Ajinkya Rahane’s 74 saw Pune post a competitive 191 in the match in Bengaluru. Kohli, however, guided RCB home in the chase with a fantastic hundred. He scored an unbeaten 108 off 58 balls, clubbing eight fours and seven sixes. Kohli featured in a 94-run stand with Rahul (38). The RCB skipper batted till the end and led the franchise to victory by seven wickets.

5. 100 vs Kolkata Knight Riders, IPL 2019

Kohli’s fifth IPL hundred came against KKR in Kolkata during the IPL 2019 edition. RCB batted first in the match and Kohli scored 100 off 58 balls, a knock that featured nine fours and four maximums. Moeen Ali contributed a brilliant 66 off 28 as RCB finished on 213 for 4. Chasing 214, KKR fought hard courtesy Nitish Rana’s 85 and Andre Russell’s 65 but ended up losing by 10 runs.

6. 99 vs Delhi Capitals, IPL 2013

Kohli narrowly missed out on a hundred during an IPL 2013 encounter against Delhi Capitals in Delhi during IPL 2013. He hammered 99 off 58 balls, a knock including 10 fours and four sixes, batting at No. 3. The RCB skipper deserved a hundred but was run out of the last ball, attempting a run that would have got him to three figures. Still, Kohli’s knock enabled RCB to post a healthy 183 for 4. DC came close in response but a five-wicket haul by Jaydev Unadkat bowled RCB to a close four-run win.

7. 93* vs Sunrisers Hyderabad, IPL 2013

One of his best knocks in his first season as captain, Kohli clobbered an unbeaten 93 off only 47 deliveries in a clash against SRH in Bengaluru during IPL 2013. SRH batted first and posted 161 for 6. RCB were 47 for 2 in the chase but Kohli guided them home with a fiery knock. He whipped 11 fours and fours sixes in a wonderful knock. RCB got over the victory line in 17.4 overs, with seven wickets in hand.

8. 92 vs Mumbai Indians, IPL 2018

In the IPL 2018 edition, Kohli came up with a fantastic effort against MI, although his efforts could not take RCB to victory. MI skipper Rohit Sharma’s 94 off 52 saw MI post a mammoth 213 for 6 in Mumbai. In response, Kohli played a lone hand of 92 off 62 as wickets crumbled around him. He hit seven fours and four sixes and remained unbeaten as RCB ended on 167 for 8.

9. 90* vs Chennai Super Kings, IPL 2020

Kohli was in his elements last season against CSK as well. In the match against Chennai in Dubai, Kohli scored an unbeaten 90 off 52 in RCB’s total of 169 for 4. He slapped four fours and as many sixes. And even as the others around him failed to contribute much, he single-handedly lifted the team to a decent total. With CSK struggling for fluency, RCB won the contest by 37 runs.

10. 82* vs Mumbai Indians, IPL 2015

Kohli opened the innings with Gayle during the IPL 2015 encounter against Mumbai Indians in Mumbai. He played a fantastic knock, whacking an unbeaten 82 off 50 balls. The RCB skipper’s innings featured six fours and four sixes. It needed something incredible to surpass Kohli’s effort in the match. That came from his equally illustrious teammate AB de Villiers, who clattered his way to 133 off only 159 balls. Kohli and ABD featured in a mammoth, unbroken stand of 215 for the second wicket. RCB put up 235 for 1 on the board. Their bowlers then held MI to 196 for 7.
