After 49 games in IPL 2021, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are the three teams to have qualified for the IPL 2021 playoffs.

The second week of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 in the UAE leg is over. It was yet another action-packed week with the movement of teams up and down the points table. After 49 games in IPL 2021, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are the three teams to have qualified for the IPL 2021 playoffs. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) seem best placed to go through as the fourth team. They are in form and have a much superior net run rate as compared to the other competing sides. As we move ahead, here’s a look at the dream team from week two of the UAE leg.

Openers: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Yashasvi Jaiswal

After a nervous season last year, Yashasvi Jaiswal is gradually beginning to find his feet in the IPL. He has been consistent this season, scoring 36 against SRH, 31 vs RCB before stunning CSK with a 19-ball fifty. His brutal assault caught CSK off-guard as RR registered a thumping win.

Middle-order: KL Rahul, Glenn Maxwell (C), Sanju Samson

He made an unbeaten 50 against RR in a winning cause and was the man of the match for his blazing 57 against PBKS.

PBKS skipper KL Rahul’s team might have been inconsistent, but the captain has continued to contribute on a regular basis. After his 21 against Mumbai, he scored a match-winning 67 against KKR and added 39 against RCB in a losing cause.

RCB batter Glenn Maxwell has been in excellent form with the willow. He scored half-centuries in both matches this week. He made an unbeaten 50 against RR in a winning cause and was the man of the match for his blazing 57 against PBKS as RCB booked their playoffs spot. Maxwell will be the captain of the ship.

RR skipper Sanju Samson scored a brilliant 82 against SRH and contributed 28 against CSK. He thus finds a spot in the middle-order.

All-rounders: Jason Holder, Ravindra Jadeja

Jason Holder has excelled with the ball for SRH. Although he hasn’t had much to do with the bat, he claimed 3 for 27 against CSK and 2 for 32 against KKR.

Ravindra Jadeja keeps finding ways to make the list. He has been very economical with the ball in hand. Against RR, he blasted a quickfire 32 not out and featured in a scintillating stand with Gaikwad.

Bowlers: Avesh Khan, Harshal Patel, Sunil Narine, Yuzvendra Chahal

He picked up 2 for 18 against Royals and followed it up with 3 for 29 against PBKS, looking like the Chahal of old.

DC pacer Avesh Khan has been going from strength to strength in IPL 2021. He claimed 3 for 13 against KKR even as DC ended up on the losing side. Also, he was sensational against MI, with figures of 3 for 15.

RCB medium-pacer Harshal Patelcontinued his impressive run in IPL 2021 He claimed 3 for 34 against the Royals and was on a hat-trick for the second time in the series. He was also economical in the win against PBKS.

This season has been KKR spinner Sunil Narine’s second coming as a bowler. He picked up 2 for 18 against DC, 1 for 34 against PBKS and 0 for 12 against SRH. Teams have just not been able to get him away.

It was a close call between Yuzvendra Chahal and Varun Chakravarthy for the second spinner’s slot. The RCB leggie eventually got the nod. Chahal has been brilliant this week. He picked up 2 for 18 against Royals and followed it up with 3 for 29 against PBKS, looking like the Chahal of old.
