Umesh Yadav and MS Dhoni have been made villains by the fans for India’s loss in the first T20I at Vizag against Australia. India could merely score 126 runs after they were put to bat first by Australian skipper, Aaron Finch. Dhoni played a very slow knock. He scored 29 runs off 37 deliveries. He could hit just a six in his 37-ball stay at the crease.

Moreover, Dhoni turned down many singles and even a double, which raised quite a few eyebrows, especially in hindsight after the match ended on the final ball.

Umesh Yadav also got severely criticized for being India’s most expensive bowler and not defending 14 runs off the final over. He conceded 35 runs in his quota of four overs. Despite players like Jhye Richardson and Pat Cummins on the crease in the last over, Yadav couldn’t defend 14 runs.
