He is currently the batting coach of Zimbabwe and recently spoke to Hindustan Times on Hardik Pandya's comparison with Ben Stokes.

Australia outclassed Team India in the first T20I of a series in Mohali. Despite scoring 208/6 in 20 overs, the bowlers failed to defend the total.

Cameron Green (61) and Matthew Wade (45*) were the main contributors to the visitors.

Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya was India’s top performer, with the all-rounder scoring an unbeaten 71 in just 30 balls. He also hit three sixes in the final over of the innings bowled by Green.

Former India head coach Ravi Shastri has termed him the best all-rounder in the shortest format of the game, while others compare him with Ben Stokes.

However, former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif is not ready to jump the gun. He feels Stokes is way ahead of Hardik, and there is no comparison between the two.

“Hardik is a good player. You have to take the Asia Cup 2022 performances too. Stokes is a proven star. He has won the World Cup and Test matches for England,” said Latif.

“So, I don’t think you can compare as Ben is ahead of him,” he added.
