India stand-in batting coach Hrishikesh Kanitkar has become a fan of Suryakumar Yadav.

After his sensational performance in the ICC T20 World Cup, the 32-year-old scored and smashed his second T20I century at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui.

India won the three-match series 1-0. SKY was not among the scorers in the first ODI of the series and was dismissed after scoring 9 off 13 balls.

But he came to his own in the next game after being promoted in the batting order. Surya slammed an unbeaten on 34 off 25 balls with two fours and one six before the contest was called off due to rain.

Kanitkar said that Yadav would be an inspiration for the batters due to his strokeplay.

“We would love 10 Suryakumar Yadavs in a team, but that’s impossible as nobody can play like him. He has his own style which he has developed after playing tennis-ball cricket since childhood,” Kanitkar was quoted as saying to Prime Video.

“He can inspire many batters who want to play unconventional strokes.”
