Punjab Kings beat Lucknow Super Giants by two wickets to produce a low-scoring thriller on a doubleheader Saturday. KL Rahul returned among the runs, as the 30-year-old scored 74(56), which helped Lucknow put 158/8 on the board after the end of the first innings.
While Rahul broke a plethora of records after his knock, he was heavily criticised over his captaincy since he did not give Ravi Bishnoi full four overs. Punjab, in reply, lost early wickets, but Sikandar Raza amassed 57(41), which helped him win the player of the match trophy. Further, Shahrukh Khan provided the finishing touch and scored an unbeaten 23(10) to help Punjab register their season’s 3rd win. After the win, PBKS climbed to the fourth spot in the table, while LSG are 2nd with 6 points in the four games.
Several cricketers reacted to the match and hailed Sikandar Raza’s performance. Liam Livingstone, who is injured at the moment, wrote, “Yes boyssss!!! Shahrukh.”
