India recently thumped Australia by 6 wickets in the third and final T20I to take the series by a margin of 2-1. There were a lot of awards on offer for the players.
The fans have questioned the relevance of giving many awards after every series. The recently-concluded T20I series against Australia saw a new award, which no one expected, not even the player who got it.
Virat Kohli, who scored a match-winning fifty in the crucial third game, was awarded the ‘Energetic Player of the Series award.
After receiving his prize, the 33-year-old ran toward his teammates. He only scored 76 runs, with 63 coming in the final game.
Going by the name of the award, Virat showed his energy, making him a different player.
He also showed his cheque to his RCB teammate Glenn Maxwell, who plays for Australia in international cricket.
