New Zealand defeated South Africa by 7 runs in the second warm-up game ahead of the ICC World Cup 2023. The result was decided using the Duckworth-Lewis method, as the contest was marred by rain at regular intervals. The Kiwis posted 321 runs while batting first. In reply, South Africa were 211-4 in 37 overs when rain stopped the play.
For New Zealand, Trent Boult was again outstanding and took two wickets. During the game, he was seen copying his Rajasthan Royals teammate Sanju Samson’s style. Samson is also the biggest star in Kerala. The game was played in Thiruvananthapuram. Boult tried to imitate Sanon’s batting stance.
Meanwhile, the first two warm-ups at the same venue were washed out due to rain. There was no result for the clashes between South Africa-Afghanistan and Australia-Netherlands.
