Rohit Sharma, the captain of Team India, delighted fans once again during the second day of the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023 final against Australia with his amusing DRS (Decision Review System) prank.
On Thursday, June 8, after his entertaining DRS gestures on the previous day, Sharma struck again. Australia began the day in a comfortable position at 327/3, with Steve Smith hitting a couple of boundaries in the very first over.
Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami got off to a good start for India by dismissing Travis Head and Cameron Green in quick succession. Shami then bowled a delivery in the stump line against Alex Carey, resulting in a half chance.
The ball hit Carey’s pads, prompting the Indian team to appeal for an LBW (leg before wicket) decision. However, the umpire dismissed the appeal.
After some discussion with the wicketkeeper and other players, Sharma chose not to take the DRS. Nevertheless, the Indian captain displayed his sense of humor by making a half-hearted DRS gesture while the players were heading for a drinks break after the delivery.
