India and Leicestershire County Cricket Club are playing a four-day game ahead of the visitors fifth and final Test against England. Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah, Cheteshwar Pujara and Prasidh Krishna are representing the Leicestershire team as part of the agreement between BCCI, ECB and LCCC.
Hence, when India skipper Rohit Sharma was dismissed in the first innings, Pant, who was the wicketkeeper for Leicestershire celebrated the dismissal.
The 35-year couldn’t control his stroke on the short delivery bowled by Roman Walker and was caught at deep mid-wicket after scoring 25 off 47 balls.
As soon as the catch was completed, Pant celebrated with a fist pump with his teammates. Bumrah and Pujara also congratulated the bowler and fielder.
Earlier, Rohit won the toss and decided to bat first. Meanwhile, R Ashwin has reached England after recovering from COVID-19.
