David Warner and Glenn Maxwell
Warner had a fun banter with Maxwell during a BBL game

On January 19, Sydney Thunder and Melbourne Renegades locked horns, where the Thunder had a comfortable outing and won the match by eight wickets with nine balls in hand.

Matthew Gilkes was head and shoulders above the rest and scored an unbeaten 74(55). David Warner, representing the Thunder, failed to hogg headlines for his batting but was certainly in the news for his fun banter with his national teammate Glenn Maxwell, who is lending his voice for the BBL.

In the 15th over, Warner was at the boundary ropes with a microphone attached to him and was in a conversation with the commentary team, which included Maxwell. During the interaction, Warner decided to throw a fun dig at Maxwell.

“Is Maxi going to ring up Andrew McDonald and ask for a break after this commentary stint? He has been there a while and he is crosscoding as well. It is one of these things we laugh about but Maxi, you are doing a great job mate,” said Warner.

“It is good to see Davey giving back. Doing this for the love of the game isn’t he?” replied Maxwell.

Maxwell sustained a freak accident right after baggy green’s exit from the 2022 T20 World Cup, where he fractured his leg and got ruled out for the action for 2-3 months.
